SBIRS Wing is responsible for planning, developing, and sustaining infra-red satellite systems, both space and ground, that provide the first warning of missile launches. The Defense Support Program has been operating for over 39 years; the SBIRS system will provided increased capabilities: Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Technical Intelligence, Battlespace Awareness.
